Senior Underwriter

The Role
The Barrett Edge has an immediate opening for a bright, hard-working individual to join our Underwriting team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the financial industry and a genuine interest in evolving credit analysis. The candidate will have the opportunity to be an integral part of a growing team in a fast-paced, work environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform due diligence on eligible deals, (e.g., valuation, credit review, financial document review, merchant research, risk assessment, review site inspections, etc.)
  • Conduct merchant interviews
  • Collaborate with Processing department to finalize contracts and interface with external partners
  • Collaborate with Business Development department to negotiate terms with key external business partnerships
  • Present pricing, stipulations, and terms within The Barrett Edge risk parameters for eligible deals; communicate funding offers to ISOs and/or merchants
  • Serve as a resource to junior underwriters regarding bank review, due diligence, stipulations, requirements, and pricing
  • Perform renewal outreach for eligible deals

Key Requirements

  • 2 – 4 years of underwriting experience in alternative financing
  • Degree from a four-year university, preferably in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related degree.
  • Excellent valuation, modeling, and Excel skills
  • Candidate must be willing to work in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
